Twice world amateur pursuit champion for Britain in the 1950's before becoming British national coach and Canadian national coach, Norman Sheil made a comeback in the over 65 age group at the 1998 World Masters Track Championships in Manchester. Now riding for Canada, Norman came second in the pursuit before going on to win the points race in his age group. Well done, Norman.
Incidentally, among the riders that Norman coached was a young lad called Ian Hallam, who also made a successful comeback at the 1998 Masters.
